| Dear Friends, Thank you very much for your kind attention. I just finished first school semester which was sort of a "teachers' nightmare", one post-grad course, and still involved in one with the Yad Vashem... I truly hope to get back on track ASAP. A poem's egging within... As for the "remember", it was the "grand" leitmotif of the poem. I have found myself rewriting rules of languages... But that's what poetry's all about! Isn't it? | I thought that poetry is all about redefining meanings not grammar rules which may sound offensive to other cultures. The first line does not do justice to your poem, I could not read the rest after trying to picture what you are trying to say there. Simply "to remember" is a verb and what you really seem to need there is a noun, perhaps "upon remembering the", "the remembrance of the", "on the relic/remains of the", or "in the memory of the other shore" I spent too much thinking of it and the meaning of the dotted line by the end of the text. Is this text a fragment of a larger poem? Can we restore the whole by looking at its pieces? | |

| Hi Luminita, Thank you for the time spent on my poem. It is difficult and unlikely successful sometimes, an(y) attempt to clarify the moment a poem conceives deep inside, somewhere between the contempt for linguistic rules and barriers and the urge to give birth to it... Nevertheless: as you see, the poem's subtitle is a transliteration of Hebrew, maybe the only "positive" sentence of the poem. "Remember" is a much thought, forced reforging of a verb into a non-existent noun, designed to be painful as "the remember" of "all the best of us who went up the chimneys". When I write, I usually have on "red alert" all aprox. 6-8 languages I speak and use, allowing grammar to remain silent for the sake of my own lyric satisfaction. Since on Agonia (both Romanian and English", I gladly developed some sort of linguistic MPD (Multiple Personality Disease) in which linguistic barriers are consciously ignored, this becoming an ars poetica rarely to be apologised for, as (to address your otherwise understandable thought) I consider any "culture" as merely the "user" of a language, never the "owner of it"... As for the dotted lines, they are much used throughout my writings, as I usually do not "finish" a poem, merely end it where a conclusion of a hoped value rounds itself as a "grand finale". Thoughts for me, do not end where words end, not even where death may try to end the voicing or writing of them. Thoughts are all that makes us free, free indeed... With respect to the time you invested in my writing, I do add a small explanatory footnote to the word I used, as has been the case in some of my Romanian language poems, pushed some of them to the outer limits of even my own fondness for experimenting... | |
