= the Grandfather of rock and roll... | Corina Gina Papouis [15.Oct.09 20:34] |
I must say, Willy, I didn't know much about him so I read, then listened...and listened..and read...his music - a voodoo experience of the time (they said that he actually gave his soul to the devil!)...met his end at only 27....a great talent, a short life, a horrible death! Thanks Willy for sharing his story! Corina
= Robert Johnson was one of the foremost blues poets- | John Willy Kopperud [15.Oct.09 20:51] |
-in the same division as Son House. He was not intent just to convey that "blue feeling", but developed his texts into captivating stories like "Hellhound on my trail", "Born under a bad sign" "Love in vain", "Crossroads" etc. Add his singing, guitar playing and composing and you get one of the really great performers. The Rolling Stones ove him a lot! Thank you very much for your comment, Corina! It's always extremely satisfying to turn a keen readers focus towards an artist of R.J's caliber. Cheers from Willy
