| No need to write free form haiku, in fact free haiku, because now haiku in English must to respect the symmetry of the short – long – short. But it should be recommended 3-5-3 syllables in English that seems to correspond to onji (Japanese syllables). But, it is free haiku, because you haven’t here a seasonal word (kigo). I don't know how much the English syllables correspond to the Japanese sounds, but I know that many of those who publish in English(native Americans, Britons and so on) use the 5-7-5. | Oh, no! Please believe me and don’t be angry with me. I have published a lot in American journals and American site and the best is 3-5-3. In fact if you try to translate an English haiku written in 3-5-3 syllables into Romanian you will discover that correspond to 5-7-5 syllables.
