Thanks Mike, at least you appreciate my "third grader wannabe poetry", according to the other creature, Professor Dan Marius. Hahahahaha!!
In fact I wrote it when I was in grade one.
Prof. Marius, this is for you: "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he"

Hey Mr. Marius A.K.A, V.I.P....I understand that you never had a formal poetic form in your whole "make believe Poetic life".
Prose writing is your habit, I knew. No wonder it is quite difficult for you to understand a well metered and rhymed work. Ouch, sorry about that!

Keep trying Dan. Someone's reading you too! Your twin poet, Mr. M. Surleac.

Cheers,
Ed

Thanks Mike, I appreciate you like my "3rd grader wannabe poetry" as the other creature so claim.

...I don't appreciate the tone in the comments going back and forth between Dan Marius and you, Edgar! From me as well as others you have received positive feedback on some of your contributions. Dan Marius hasn't agreed. He is not the one to clarify his views in a convincing way, therefore his criticism may be taken in as a bit immature. On the other hand I do think the contributors must tolerate a little "give and take" and accept that you can't win them all. A part of the game, you may say. It's all very well that you abide to rhyming, Edgar, but free-form-poetry has been established in the literary society for generations. You might as well admit it; it's here to stay!

Cheers from Willy

When testosterone flies over our heads is hard to enjoy poetry, is like chanting while an F16 invades the space above you. Could we all take a step back and either say something constructive (positive or negative that is!) or nothing at all...
I agree that some comments are immature/ maybe personal - it is probably wise to ignore those!:)
I think we all come from different backgrounds, share different cultures and believe in different gods. The only thing in common for some of us here is POETRY.
PLEASE KEEP THAT SPACE AS SACRED!
Thanks to all!

My aim was to put an end to the heated comment writing, Corina. I see you have expressed that wish in a calmer and
more rational manner than myself. This site is indeed for
writing, not for personal strife.
Cheers from Willy

getting in touch with my feminine side, and feeling a rush of estrogen... I dare say that negative comments can also be constructive. As I said before I am tired of political correctness. We are all grown men and women (to be politically correct:) here I think most of us are wise enough to understand a few rough comments.

Every poem/ text, I believe, represents a small slice of ourselves, if it gets criticised in a positive/ negative way it impacts on us, regardless. I appreciate that grown up men and women should not 'blink' at rough criticism, however, we are all vulnerable in different degrees and we...don't know each other very well. Attack then becomes the only form of defence. Amongst us there may be very young poets who are on their first attempts. We don’t want to send anybody in foetal position here, do we?:)
I am all for criticism, there is no other way forward! A sensible comment would raise more awareness! A snappy one would only raise your ..blood pressure.
Best wishes and I hope, no heard feelings!
Corina
