| Thanks for your comment, Oriana, I do like a challenge and I value your advice. My own feeling is that poetry is not there to give us answers, but to express our feelings, maybe even criticise society. You are right that articles sometimes spoil the flow of the verse, but it is difficult to avoid them. My mother, whose father was a poet and writer, taught me to make comparisons, I think it gives life to a poem, again, the word like could be avoided? In this the English language is slightly limited... I see your poems are very long... I am willing to learn as much as I can without losing my own style. I read a lot of poems here that are written in a very simple everyday language and, honestly, confuse me as to their meaning. Some seem as an accumulation of thoughts which do not belong together... Poetry is diverse and I am still finding my way... I have rewritten the said poem (which was just an accumulation of thoughts, actually), now I would like to hear your view on this second try... | |
