Perspective on “humanity”

"From wars to hunger, from hate to blame
Little affairs, empty beds and frozen sheets
Long working hours and drinks till dawn
Depression has built an altar in your soul.

Suicidal souls are crawling the news
More death, more grief, always damnation
Ugliness, stupidity, vulgar humans surround you
With obscenity branding their thoughts

The only flowers you buy are for funerals
The only smiles are for final goodbyes
Tears are now dry, always useless
Such pain, such disappointment is the world."
"No pain" (Little machine - Ioana D.)

The unknown scares, the soul scares, the fear kills.
Nowadays it’s considered idealistic to suffer, cry, love, it’s revolting and unacceptable to feel human, it’s not modern, it’s normal to be a small machine with no honest smiles, with no complete feelings, all caught up in the work – sleep circle. Unconditional love can have no chance facing this sort of agendas.
After thousands of years the man is not satisfied with all the blood, each new born is a disciple that recreates the same murder patterns. There is nothing new, nothing unseen, there are the same events and problems, not only for me but for the entire world in all its history. The things that do change are the weapons, the faces, the material appearance whilst the blood is the same, same original blood, the blood of the first humans that walked this earth, it’s their blood, the blood that flows through our veins, it’s the same flesh that feeds the earth, it’s them that feed us, no matter the nationality, the color, the religion, age, sex, the nowadays people or the ones that lived 1000 years ago.
And still, it’s all about a mass education and a precious ego.
As a human, a soul, I tell a story that it’s bigger than my common spirit, unilateral, individual. It’s not an unheard story; it’s a story about the entire world and me as a part of this world.
It is not a story that starts or ends at a particular moment in time, it starts with the first blood, the first human that breaths through me and all of us, his blood flows through everyone no matter how special we’d like to think we are, those are the genes that created us, those genes are what shaped any of today’s breaths and any human feelings.
We are one not billions, no one is more precious than me as I am not more precious than anyone else, we all have the same rights to live and feel. No one can oblige me to feel less, I am who you are as we are this entire world and this whole world is you and me.
The murder that one does is a murder towards this whole world, it shouldn’t be tolerated but neither punished since you would punish your own blood, if people wouldn’t believe so much in murder it wouldn’t happen, it’s all in our education. You shouldn’t kill another for you to live, nor should you make someone feel bad so you could feel better, you can’t loathe me so you’d feel noble. Whoever you are, you are just like me.
And how often do you ask yourself what can you do for the others? How often do you ask me what can you do for me? How often do you question who you are, what do you love, what do you believe in and why you can’t stop yourself from doing things you know you shouldn’t do? What would you do if you’d have my memories?
J. Piaget used to say that towards the end of childhood we start discovering and understanding the other’s points of view and still, why are we all paying tribute to unilateralism? Why do we all “know/hold” the truth?
We all think we only have ourselves so we need that truth, the possibility of making a mistake makes us unstable, we believe in our truths no matter what they are, without that truth there is fear and so fearing “the fear” we sacrifice the others. This truth is our identity, a built identity (at least we have a mass education so we won’t kill everyone around us), we are educated to believe and think, we are told what to believe as being true and what to feel that would be considered appropriate by societal standards. We can’t stop and evaluate since we are “trained” even since we are born. That won’t mean that we don’t ever evaluate the world around but we do evaluate it through already learnt filters and sometimes, when we do evaluate it, we still remain between well known boundaries, afraid of the unknown. In the past almost the entire world turned brilliancy into madness and I am not so sure things have changed, remember, the world wasn’t round and when it was… all the universe was revolving around Earth.
Not everybody is afraid of the unknown but today’s societies are just interested in things that have the potential of profit. Besides that, everybody is afraid he/she may lose something to someone and no one can accept loss except through force and we do see force around us, from domestic violence to world wars.
An economy lesson will teach you that every resource is considered limited and we are all in competition with everyone else then, one’s gain will be another’s loss and if one does believe that as being “the truth” then people won’t ever stop fighting to have that win/advantage/bigger piece/profit and almost no one questions if that resource is indeed limited if exploited differently or if there are alternative resources. And those who do present alternatives to this kind of world are thought of being mad, impractical, idealistic.
In the same time, there are so many unending resources but humans do tend to treat everything as limited, even love.
Those unlimited resources (love, friendship, trust, kindness, generosity) are always enough, they can never end as long as we are humans. In the end, these unlimited spiritual resources can “make” the material resources being exploited with more efficiency.
Still, greed, most people are greedy, someone will always take more and the other will always work more, give more, love more and, sadly, lose more.
There are still a few that have learnt that all things are questionable and there are always ways but the fear of the majority, buried in the “spiral of silence” (E. Noelle-Neumann), will always reproduce the primordial crime while the few will give a tear and die a little, trying to show the other side of humanity, reminding us we are the same blood, same genes and breath, same human from all around.
