Pe iazul morii apa nu mai bate; Pe dealuri focul cel din urma moare. Privind pe ceruri caile stelate, Adorm in lumea lor fermecatoare. In somn rasare luna ganditoare Si umple bolta de singuratate. O simt cum trece, clara, tot mai clara, Pe-nchipuitul arc al hemisferei; O simt, dar nu o pot privi-n afara. Aceasta noua forma a durerii Tu o cunosti... Revino mane sara, Icoana casta a nemangaierii! (1894)
