Șoptirea ta mi-e dragǎ mie , Poeticul tǎu plâns, amar . Mǎ scaldǎ ca-ntr-o rouǎ rece O pulbere de-argint curat . Curgi , drag izvor, și te petrece ! Șoptește-mi tot ce s-a-ntâmplat Fântânǎ-a dragostei, amarǎ ! Pe-a tale lespezi am slǎvit Iubita, depǎrtata țarǎ . Tu de Maria n-ai grǎit O, palǎ stea-n saraiul mare ! Și-aici uitarea te-a închis ? Maria și Zarema oare Sunt numai umbra unui vis ? Sau poate a gândului aripǎ Într-un pustiu a zugrǎvit Un vis care-a ținut o clipǎ, De suflet în zadar râvnit ?
