Definition of a Shadow

By Romuald Feldmann

What is a shadow if not something’s empty image
Grey, flat dimension, forever second left to be
Seeking itself around a formal marriage
Condemned to need the light, unsure if “you” is “it” or “me”.

Unholy envies mar the soul of shadows
As light can have whatever fountain to exist
Self-shining brightness, which so hungry swallows
Together darkness, shadow, thought as mist.
