The wind is howling through the trees,
a lone wolf in search of his kind -
the sound of despair breaks this night
which gently covers all sorrow
with its silent song;
and in the breath of darkness smiles
a heartbeat of hope for
a new friend at dawn,
to bring the peace of autumn
in its golden splendour
to all wounded life
