Pearlfisher

When the body fails
your every command,
becomes a prison itself
and cruelly humbles you,
takes you through living hell
to shake off its chains –
in vain -
what’s left is surrender only –
head bowed – to fate -
make friends with helplessness,
shake hands with disability –
never will the brain give up
to stay in control –
the soul finds a light
to shine in dark alleys
and hidden treasures of expression
are found along the way
which lift you above the rest
to proudly show your face again
and share the pearls from deep within
