Thanksgiving Day
by mazHur

what a wonderful way to thank God
for all his blessings
on a day fixed for Thanksgiving Day !
Gratefulness oozing with blood
of innocent turkeys
slaughtered by butchers
in the name of God
and to prepare for fun of eating
for the people.
Oh, what a bloody Thanksgiving day
to honor the deity;
a day of curse for the innocent turkeys
as if they were not creation of God!
Religious rituals are funny indeed;
they are aimed at shedding blood
of weaker and tongue-less creatures.
celebrated to feed the over-fed;
the thought disgusts me
and I am forced to think
God couldn't be so cruel
as to ask his men to kill lower forms
to please Him for men's own pleasure.
No one seems to have qualms about it
bloodshed has been legalized
in the name of religion;
some slaughter goats and sheeps;
some sacrifice bulls;
and some turkeys.
Why wouldn't this bloodshed then
make ferocious lions and crocodiles
smile!
