Flag
outside
my window.
‘Tis a dreary
overcast day.
The horizon is
glued with gray
hiding the trees,
outlining humps
of bygone hills.
The flag
is soaked
and heavy
slumping
against
the pale
aluminum pole.
A breeze
or a gust
of wind
cannot move
the water
soiled
muted
flag.
