The two hundred meters medalists at The Olympic Games 1968

________________________________________________________

Smith and Carlos
entered the podium
each with a
black gloved right hand.

Even white Australian Norman
wore a badge in sympathy.

As Stars and Stripes chimed out
Smith and Carlos
raised that fist
with the glove on
towards the latin american sky.
- Black Power!

Afterwards; mexican bourgeousie booing
from their expensive seats.
Exclusion from all representation.
- That went for Norman too.

And; my deep admiration
throughout all these years.
