I'm breaking apart in brown sugar cubes
when I hear your heart whistle
through that crack in your vein
no emotion could fill
for we call emotion the faint
low blood pressure / low calcium / sugar
the tale of a spill / from one heart / to another
ironic and raging
how watched kettles don't boil
until we're apart
without a surrogate mother
