the gullible Tom & Jean
met on the corner of Liberation Avenue
one misty weekend dawn
late night songs were put to sleep
trees were catching leafy yawns
it smelled like spring but not quite
it was rather a joke of a day
we serendipitously bumped our heads
on the same wailing wall
it sounds like lonely days are whining
we can’t fall in love elsewhere
