A soldier is looking at his gun,
weapon of slaves, not of free men
human is he, hates and loves,
never a killer on command,
a tooth for a tooth, like the Bible says,
defend your land and your family,
if he caught the other’s eye,
a different war would he fight,
down in his heart, deep in his soul
brother against brother,
boy against boy,
he does not want an enemy
he wants to go home and simply forget,
awake from this nightmare he has had
“Don’t think, shoot, ask questions then,
eat or be eaten is the law of man!”
