Popped by the local

Fast Food joint

with that electric sign

reading APEIRON

stuck to the roof above

At the counter, eyeballing

the haggard old waitress

with the heavy jowls

I placed my order:

-A couple of those blind,

never-seen-before-things

from the Mariana Gap, please.

Add a squid

two spoons of sharkfin

and a hint of whatever grows

a bit below sea level...

- And above?

- Muskrat eye, make that two...

Three alligator eggs

and some Tiger tails

- Anything flying?

- One Bat, please,

but no "Condor Pasa" this time

- Going further out?

- Those stars look delicious,

throw in half a dozen

-Would that be all, Sir?

- Ah, put a few vegetables

and some salsa on top

- And how do you want it served?

- In a black hole

to take away
