Batrinul cersetor

La coltul strazii e un cersetor
Cu mana-ntinsa, catre-o alta lume
Decat aceea unde, fara nume,
El ispaseste risul tuturor.

Adolescentii se mai tin de glume
Si-i pun in palma semne de-ale lor,
El e batran si intelegator,
Cu noi, cu totii, dar, cu cei mici, anume.

Si cine observa, int-o doara,
Ca el e-aici din vremuri de demult,
Imperturbabil, in acest tumult,
El, cersetorul, a uitat sa moara.

Sub zdreanta lui, minunea se-ntrupeaza,
In el e Dumnezeu, ce sta de paza.
