And the preacher said to me:
"Will you take this man?"
"I will. I'll take him away,
from all of you, from your judging
eyes, from your prying ears
and your pointing fingers.
I will carry him and offer
the support of my shoulders
until he regains his wings.
I will sing him a lullaby
and he will dream of hot
summers, gentle springs,
carnations and me. And
when he can fly I will show
him the cloud that was his home
and he'll discover the piece
of heaven that was missing from
his heart.
"Bless you my children" said
the preacher, and disappeared
into the morning light reflected
in your eyes.
