Beloved children

the turtledoves were born
from the twinkle in your eyes
and by looking at them
the dinosaurs in our gaze were tamed

the gingerbread was baked
from the heat of your little hands
and by tasting it
the glaciers in our hearts melted

the sweetest nectar was spilled
from the tears of your laughter
and by sipping it
our cold blood turned
into a warm one.

And then while you were sleeping
as the asteroid was heading towards Earth
the light you were spreading prayed Hush! so
brightly, that the whole earth was twinkling
and by looking at it
the asteroid turned into
a turtledove dinosaur.
