"The editorial board of the Romanian-Japanese Journal of Cultural Interferences „Haiku” continues to organize the annual competition for haiku poems with fixed form, during the first trimester of 2009. The competition is open to all the poets who will send on the address of Mr. Vasile Moldovan, Str. Bârnova, Nr. 8, Bloc M 110, Ap. 9, Sector 5, O.P. 51, Cod 051164, Bucharest, Romania or on the following e-mail addresses:

a number of 6 (six) haiku poems (5-7-5), up to March 31st, 2009.

Only original haiku poems will be accepted, which were not published in newspapers or journals, author volumes or in any other form up to date of the competition. Hand-written texts will not be accepted, the texts need to be typed at least, with correct diacritical symbols and signed as well.

The texts of the foreign authors have to be written in English or French language as well as in original language. We prefer to send the texts by e-mail, with Times New Roman 12 formatting.

A jury nominated by the editorial board of the Haiku Journal will analyse the received poems, will grant qualification and will decide for the awarded poems.

The results of the competition will be published in the Haiku Journal nr. 41 – Semester I – 2009 and the prizes and diplomas will be sent to the winners by mail.

Qualitative poems which have been sent, even those who will not win awards will be selected for inclusion in International Haiku Anthology 2009, second edition.
