briskly is tossing the golden nap
with black lid and chalk eye
and
it isn’t coughing isn’t silent
isn’t singing
it’s only eating bags
with carefully painted butterflies
out of boredom
as if a French heart
were puking behind the hills
as if you opened your leg
at the first clap of a hand
