Christmas and the night
Is a beautiful and poignant Time. With much heralding We look forward to its light. But can we keep it? Shouldn’t we grasp the thing As it roles around each year? Aren’t we free to celebrate light When ever wisdom is clear? Christmas, however, is the Birth of insight. Its occurrence rare, a stark contrast. Like the dark ignited by Solar flares. The world observes the Solstice And its reflection in men, While some few are more Than mirrors and have always Been. Their names are left behind them As the pole star in the sky, Which points out the “Evergreen” way. The by-product of their lives.
